Changing Hot Tub Water
A common misconception is that you should drain and change your water in intervals such as every 2-3 weeks, however, we find that most owners go 4 – 5 months before changing their water.
Yes, you should drain your water if you do not plan on using your hot tub anytime soon. Perhaps you have a hot tub at your summer house but do not plan on running your spa for some time (winter months) therefore you should drain your hot tub.
If your water begins to be unclear that’s an indicator that something could be wrong. Usually cloudy water means something is wrong with the lack of maintenance. If you are unable to clear up the water with the right chemical treatment, then you should drain your hot tub.
Remember, clear water is clean water. Before draining your water, bring a sample to our lab and let us test your water so we can help clear it up!
